PAULA STEPS IN: Ellen Tracy has a new spokeswoman. The women’s wear brand, which is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year, has tapped actress Paula Patton to be its new face and brand ambassador. Patton’s appearances for the label will begin in November and will be part of a global initiative to commemorate the milestone. The campaign will extend through 2015.
Patton follows Cindy Crawford, Stephanie Seymour and Christy Turlington, who were previously featured in the brand’s campaigns.
“We believe that Paula represents today’s dynamic and confident woman, balancing work, life and motherhood,” said Jameel Spencer, chief marketing officer of Sequential Brands Group, which owns Ellen Tracy.
“As I continue to evolve in my life, I felt like Ellen Tracy was a natural partnership,” said Patton. “The clothes are timeless, flattering and wearable from morning to night. I am also very proud that as part of my work with Ellen Tracy, I will be able to highlight and bring much deserved and necessary attention to women of all backgrounds who shape the world every day.”
The Ellen Tracy label was founded in 1949 and is sold at department stores including Nordstrom and Lord & Taylor. Sequential acquired the brand last year.
