Porter Magazine has tapped Alex White for the new role of U.S. fashion director at large.
Based in New York, White will be tasked with producing fashion stories and shoots from the U.S. for the bimonthly magazine, which is owned by Net-a-porter.
A well-known stylist in the industry, White has worked in fashion for more than three decades. She started her career in the U.K. at Harpers & Queen Magazine where she styled shoots with photographers such as Craig McDean, David Sims and Mario Sorrenti in the early Nineties. She then went on to W Magazine where she served as fashion director for 10 of her 16 years at the Condé Nast-owned title.
White will join Porter’s global fashion team of eight, including editorial fashion director Gabriele Hackworthy, executive fashion editor Emily Zak, fashion editor Morgan Pilcher and contributing fashion editor Cathy Kasterine.
White will report to Porter editor in chief Lucy Yeomans.
