Porter Magazine has teamed up with Elizabeth Arden on a new event honoring 100 influential women.
Called the “100 Incredible Women List,” the new feature commemorates women who have challenged the status quo and influenced the world through their achievements, the magazine said.
Some of the honorees have made the rounds already on the awards circuit in recent years, and include Reese Witherspoon, Elizabeth Holmes, Caitlyn Jenner, Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham, Samantha Power, Malala Yousafzai, Stella McCartney, Hillary Clinton, Christine Lagarde, Angela Merkel, Margaret Atwood, Sarah Silverman, Amy Schumer, Tina Fey, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Oprah Winfrey, Diane von Furstenberg, Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss and Marissa Mayer.
The full list will be released as part of a 33-page editorial supplement in the “Winter Escape” issue of Porter, which will go on sale on Dec. 4. The supplement and inaugural list is sponsored by Elizabeth Arden. Actress Emma Watson, who has emerged as an advocate for women’s rights, fronts the winter issue.
Porter said it selected a mix of women who are both “serious and playful” and come from the worlds of finance, politics, fashion, media, entertainment and beauty, among others.
Porter editor in chief Lucy Yeomans offered: “Rather than celebrating women because of their power or stardom, we’ve devised a list of female visionaries who have made us think and act differently in the past 12 months and inspired and empowered others around them. Our list and editorial tribute is for incredible women everywhere and shows us that not only is the connection between women exceptionally profound, but collectively we are capable of doing the most incredible things.”
