LONDON – Ahead of their nuptials later this morning, Prince William and Kate Middleton have new titles. Buckingham Palace said today that the Queen has conferred a dukedom on Prince William – his titles will now be Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus. Prince William will now become His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge and Kate Middleton, upon her marriage, will become Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge.
Meanwhile, designers are beginning to release details of who they dressed for the wedding. Bruce Oldfield said this morning that he has dressed Sophie, Countess of Wessex in a biscuit colored silk jacket with a two-tone knee-length dress, which she’s paired with Jimmy Choo shoes and a Jane Taylor hat. He’s also dressed Natalia Grosvenor, the Duchess of Westminster, and Laura Bechtolsheimer, a British dressage rider.
Milliner Philip Treacy confirmed he’s designed hats for over 30 guests attending the wedding. Among them are Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Beatrice (who’s pairing her hat with a design by Valentino couture), Princess Eugenie (who’s wearing a Vivienne Westwood ensemble), Victoria and David Beckham, Tara Palmer Tomkinson, Princess Michael of Kent, Zara Phillips, Gabriella Windsor, the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire and Princess Marie Chantal of Greece.
