BEAUTY BUY: Prisma Media said on Monday that it has acquired

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 10-year-old site’s mission is twofold — to give information on the worlds of beauty, care and hygiene, and to test beauty products for brands.

Two-hundred thousand people are registered on Beauté-Addict, and from them, editors choose those to engage in product testing based on the profiles sought after by labels. (Criteria can include certain types of skin or hair, or geographic location, for instance.) People tapped who agree to give detailed commentary on their experience can test products free of charge.

Beaute-Addict will be placed under the auspices of Femme Actuelle, a woman’s title owned by Prisma that boasts 18 million monthly hits online.

Novel features and a new application for Beauté-Addict are slated for next year. The site counts 500,000 unique views per month, according to MNR Global data. It also contains more than 500,000 posts written by bloggers and involves nearly 130,000 beauty centers.

Prisma Media’s other 20-plus titles include Gala, Voici and As You Like.
