ShopRunner just released its weekly consumer insights report on the holiday shopping season, and e-commerce has emerged as key channel while 41.5 percent of respondents said they have started their holiday shopping in earnest.

The company analyzed data from its consumer members for the week of Nov. 13, and found that 61.1 percent have used e-commerce while 45.2 percent have made purchases in-store. Mobile purchases accounted for 38.8 percent of sales.

Regarding who they are shopping for, 18.8 percent were for themselves while 60.4 percent for items for kids and 23.9 percent for siblings. Items bought for spouses accounted for 31 percent.

More than 40 percent were spending between $250 and $749 while 35.7 percent were doling out more than $750.
