FRENCH CONNECTION: Stella McCartney has styled her own ads this season featuring a few longtime favorites. Natalia Vodianova and Mariacarla Boscono were photographed outside Paris by Harley Weir. The spring ads mark McCartney’s third ad collaboration with Weir.
A mood film to complement the still images will also be revealed on stellamccartney.com and the brand’s social platforms today.
In addition to pleated dresses, body skimming knits and layered checks and stripes, the ads show off the new Becks bag, which has a thick galvanized brass chain made of hand-woven eco alter nappa.
“I wanted to evoke the laid back feeling of summer; a celebration of love and friendship,” Stella McCartney told WWD. “The images have a sense of lightness, an open heart with an edge to it.”
The campaign will break in the March issues of titles including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, W, Elle, V and Interview as well as other international titles.
