STRIP TEASE: Daffy’s is bringing the peep show back to Times Square. The new store, which opened Wednesday at 218 West 44th Street, has plans to install a peep show window this Tuesday. There are six different versions of the peep show, featuring a “virtual” dancer on a 10-by-12-foot video monitor disrobing for about one minute. The way it works is when a passerby places her hand on a specialized sensor mounted on the inside of the window, a curtain rises revealing a model. The model starts removing her clothes, with signs saying “Wanna see what 50% looks like?” She then removes more clothing — 60 percent off, 70 percent off and finally, the neon copy above the model reads: “Wanna see more? Come downstairs.” The store is located below ground, which means that the firm’s longtime advertising agency, DeVito/Verdi had to come up with an idea that would literally drive traffic underground. In addition to the window, Daffy’s will have an interactive video which runs along the wall leading to the store, as well as fliers, models wearing sandwich boards and digital videos on nearby newsstands supporting the grand opening and peep show.
