TALBOTS FALLS IN PLACE: Rather than shake up the creative lineup for advertising campaigns as many brands do from one season to the next, Talbots kept everyone in place for the fall.

The New England-based retailer led another road trip to the West Coast to shoot models Niki Taylor, Ubah Hassan and Mini Andén. Photographer Peggy Sirota did the honors with help from stylist Sean Spellman. All the parties that be decamped on San Francisco’s Nob Hill neighborhood. Playing off the theme of “City Life,” the trio were photographed window shopping, strolling along and hamming things up a bit.

Despite the urban mood, Andén, Hassan and Taylor did their best to try to keep an inner calm. Before each of the three 12-hour days, they invited the shoot’s 32-person crew to join them for some early morning yoga. But the models were on their own when it was time for sun salutations, according to one Talbots staffer. All that stretching must have had its intended effect, considering the models shopped at Sephora and other Union Street stores in between shoots for scented candles and other gifts for the entire Talbots crew.

The omnichannel campaign will be used in Talbots 430 stores and online. It will also appear in two new stores in Chicago, as well as ones in Cleveland and central Florida that Talbots will open this fall.

For the “Weekend Away” theme for the October ads, the Talbots team went to work at Viansa Vineyard in Sonoma, Calif., with the models layering up in Talbots shetland wool blazers and chunky cashmere sweaters despite the 100-degree temperatures. As has become customary for its campaigns, the specialty store chain included a nod to it signature color in its ads — a red door on Union Street and a 1957 red Thunderbird parked in the vineyard.
