Time Inc. has hired Christine Wu for the newly created role of vice president of strategic client solutions, the company said Monday.
Wu, a former Sony executive, will oversee corporate advertising strategy, sales development and business-to-business marketing. She will also lead business operations for the corporate sales team. Wu, who joins Time Inc. today, reports to executive vice president of global advertising Mark Ford.
“Christine has an extensive marketing background working with global consumer brands and managing agencies and cross-functional teams,” Ford said. “Her experience and proven track record for driving innovation will be invaluable to marketing Time Inc. in this fast-changing climate.”
Wu served as senior director of corporate marketing at Sony, where she led the global development of cross-company consumer insights and “One Sony” marketing initiatives across various business lines, from electronics to entertainment. She also managed Sony’s relationship with Universal McCann and was responsible for media planning and buying for Sony in North America, Time Inc. said. Prior to Sony, Wu held senior marketing roles across PepsiCo businesses, including Diet Pepsi Max and Propel, and served in various brand management jobs at Kraft Foods and Johnson & Johnson.
