Travel + Leisure has hired Sarah Firshein as its digital director.
Firshein, who will join the Time Inc.-owned magazine on Dec. 8, was previously at the Wall Street Journal where she oversaw digital strategy and the execution of Web-only content for Personal Journal and Off Duty.
She also covered lifestyle-related topics, such as food and drink, design, travel, fashion and technology. Before The Journal, Firshein was the founding editor of Curbed’s national site for Vox Media.
She joins T+L’s new crop of hires—creative director Gretchen Smelter, features director Jesse Ashlock, style director Jane Bishop—all of whom started last week.
The masthead shake up is part of a new editorial regime at the travel magazine. In August, Nathan Lump was named editor in chief, following the retirement of Nancy Novogrod, who served in the top job for 21 years.
