IN WITH THE NEW: Fashion Media Group has hit the reset button for V Magazine and VMAN with some integral additions to its roster.

Valerie Salembier, who’s known editor in chief Stephen Gan for 15 years from her former days as publisher of Harper’s Bazaar and Town & Country, has signed up as a sales and marketing consultant. And Allure’s former fashion director Paul Cavaco is on board as contributing fashion director. (He styled the Mario Testino-shot September cover featuring Troye Sivan, Taylor Hill, Lucky Blue and Kacy Hill.)

Big on celebrity contributors, V and VMAN has reeled in model Gigi Hadid — as a photographer. Whether the 21-year-old brings with her advertising from any of the many brands she works with is to be determined. What is known is that she will shoot as part of an ongoing project for the spring season.

New York Times best-selling author Joshua Lyon is senior editor. Another new addition is managing editor Nancy Gillen who has worked at Glamour and Harper’s Bazaar. Former InStyle employee Priya Rao has joined the team as contributing editor, as has fashion market director Mia Solkin, who also previously worked at InStyle.

With a rate base of 100,000, V Magazine’s subscriptions are 87 percent and controlled circulation is 13 percent via high-end hotels and airport lounges. In the continually shrinking, but increasingly competitive magazine world, FMG will introduce an Italian version of V with a January/February issue. And as of Thursday, V’s September issue will become available via V Magazine’s app. As Salembier lays the groundwork for a more solid sales and marketing team, she is quickly getting used to the Mercer Street office. “Having been with big companies, the more informal structure here suits me better — no budget meetings,” she said.
