Vox Media, which operates sites such as The Verge, SB Nation, Eater, Racked and vox.com, has added ReCode to its stable of properties. Terms of the site’s acquisition were not disclosed.
ReCode, which was founded last year by former Wall Street Journal reporters Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg, will join Vox, the company said Tuesday evening.
Vox Media’s chief executive officer Jim Bankoff said the technology and business news site will continue to publish at recode.net, but it will make use of his company’s publishing platform, Chorus, a selling point for Swisher and Mossberg.
ReCode, which was previously owned by Revere Digital LLC, will also bring Vox its tech conference business, the Code.
