Wenner Media has promoted two of its execs.


Wenner has named David Kang its chief revenue officer for Rolling Stone and Men’s Journal, and Gus Wenner, the 23-year-old son of company owner Jann Wenner, as head of digital, overseeing the Web sites for Rolling Stone, Us Weekly and Men’s Journal. Both Kang and Wenner will report to Wenner Media chairman Jann Wenner.


Kang, who joined the firm as chief digital officer in 2012, helped secure digital sponsorship deals with companies such as Apple, Google Play, Patrón, T-Mobile and Netflix, among others.
Director of Rollingstone.com since 2013, Wenner has already been running editorial and business operations for the site. His promotion is an expansion of his role, giving him oversight of the digital operations for Us Weekly and Men’s Journal, as well as Rolling Stone.
Like Kang, Wenner has worked to grow digital traffic and devised brand expansion roles for Rolling Stone, such as the creation of Rolling Stone Country, a magazine on country music.
Other projects include the redesign of RollingStone.com, expected later this summer, and the creation of Rolling Stone Films, a series of short documentary films sponsored by Patrón, and scheduled to premiere on the site in early 2015.
