NEW YORK — Paul Wilmot Communications will open a West Coast office this month, in Los Angeles. The West Coast operation will be headed by Alexandra Kimball, associate partner and regional director, who formerly worked as vice president of public relations at Oscar de la Renta. The Los Angeles office will work with many of the firm’s existing brands and specialize in fashion, accessories, beauty, wellness, lifestyle and culture, as well as special events public relations.

“Given the current, challenging economic environment, we are excited to be able to offer our existing clients additional West Coast services and look forward to the new business opportunities that will result from this new satellite,” said company founder and chief executive Paul Wilmot.

Paul Wilmot Communications was established in 1997, and has clients such as Calvin Klein, Abaeté, Monique Lhuillier, MAC Cosmetics, Tommy Hilfiger, and Donna Karan and DKNY Hosiery.

In September 2008, the company was acquired by FleishmanHillard International Communications, a public relations firm based in St. Louis. At the time of the acquisition, Wilmot said he also was eyeing opening satellite offices in Tokyo and London.
