Zack Toth is working to translate his late father’s branding process for a new age.

TOTH TAKES TOP SPOT: Zack Toth has been named president of Toth + Co., the Boston-based fashion branding/advertising agency started by his late father, Mike Toth. He has also purchased ownership of the agency for an undisclosed sum.

Toth, who has been with the agency 10 years, has been director, business development and worked in account management. He will be responsible for upholding the agency’s vision, advancing its capabilities, ensuring the quality of its work and leading its management team. Toth + Co.’s clients include Hickey Freeman, Chinese Laundry, G.H. Bass, Wrangler, Lee Riders, Ascena Retail Group, Grand Hyatt and Park Hyatt.

Mike Toth, who served as president and chief creative officer of Toth + Co., died in December, 2014 of tonsil and throat cancer.

“It’s been a really fascinating time for us as a company,” said Toth. “We want to keep this beautiful place alive and get better. We’ve had two strong years under our belt,” following the death of his father. At that time, they assembled a board of directors. The company employs 40 people. The role of chief creative officer won’t be filled, and the company has a stable of people who have specialties in design and art direction, said Toth. It also employs a director of creative services, who oversees the management of the departments.
