TOURNEAU’S NEW SIBLING: Bucherer USA, which acquired Tourneau in January, has completed its acquisition of Baron & Leeds, a luxury retailer of fine watches and jewelry. Baron & Leeds, founded in 2002, operates two Rolex boutiques at South Coast Plaza and the International Market Place in Honolulu. It also operates two Baron & Leeds stores in Maui at Whalers Village in Lahaina and at The Shops at Wailea. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Guido Zumbühl, chief executive officer of the Bucherer Group, said, “We take great pride in partnering with companies who complement and align with our quest for perfection, warm hospitality and constantly aspire to delight customers with fascinating brands and products.” He said Baron & Leeds met all of “these criteria.”

The ceo of Tourneau, Ira Melnitsky, said the acquisition of Baron & Leeds “represents an important step forward in the continued growth of Tourneau. We are proud to be able to expand our customer relationships in both California and Hawaii.”

Tourneau, established in 1900, is the largest luxury watch retailer in the U.S. and has 24 locations across 10 states. Bucherer, a Swiss-family owned business in operation since 1888, has 35 stores in Europe. In addition to its Carl F. Bucherer watch manufacturing brand, it has also for 130 years sold jewelry under the brand name Bucherer Fine Jewellery.
