MILAN — OTB has a new brand joining its stable: Milanese accessories company Paula Cademartori. The Italian-Brazilian designer is known for her colorful collections of bags, shoes and accessories that are made in Italy, and have been spotted on celebrities including Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Jessica Alba. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“Paula’s energy and positivity are contagious, and her products are high-quality and distinctive,” said OTB founder and president Renzo Rosso, highlighting the potential of the brand. “Within our group, she will continue to freely create innovative, ‘brave’ products, also thanks to the structural support we will provide her, and together we will create a new success story based on a unique identity and borderless creativity.”

Manolo Blahnik will receive the Luxury Legend award from Walpole, the sector body for U.K. luxury, during the black-tie British Luxury Awards on Monday, but the iconic shoe designer says he nowhere near the “legendary status” level. “A legend? I don’t think I’ll ever be a legend. That’s maybe in other people’s minds — but not in mine. I still have a future, a few more years — I hope,” he tells WWD.
Fendi marked the 10th anniversary of its Peekaboo bag by partnering with artists to reinterpret it for Design Miami. Sabine Marcelis, for one, froze the handbag within a resin block, allowing "translucent colors" to emphasize the shape of the bag. The designs will be on display at Design Miami, running Dec. 5–9.
Maapilim, the direct-to-consumer grooming start-up has raised a $4 million Series A round. The company, headquartered in Tel Aviv and founded by husband duo Jonathan and Doron Keren, focuses on high-end, natural, men's grooming products sourced from the Mediterranean coasts.
