PARIS – Tara Jarmon has changed hands.
The French contemporary label, owned by co-founders Tara and David Jarmon for the past 30 years, has been acquired by AMS Industries. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“It’s a beautiful brand, one of the last French nuggets,” Jean-Paul Bize, founder of the family-owned diversified concern, said. “We’re going to give Tara Jarmon the means to grow, particularly in Asia and also the U.S.”
Tara Jarmon has more than 700 points of sale, including 50 boutiques, 60 department store corners and 600 multi-brand doors.
The label last year generated sales of 100 million euros, or $111 million at average exchange for the 12-month period.
AMS also owns majority stakes in Poiray, Tecla and Aurélie Bidermann, among other companies.
“We’ve grown our luxury pole in the recent years,” said Bize.
