Fast expansion is an understatement for Artis.
In November, the luxury makeup brush brand launched at Net-a-porter. In February, it launched in Neiman Marcus. In May it went into Bergdorf Goodman. Tonight at 11 p.m. the company will debut on QVC and in August it will be at sold at Cos Bar and Space NK. Year-over-year, the brand has doubled their doors every quarter.
“We want to serve customers across all markets no matter where they are geographically located or what best serves their needs,” said Jeremy Adelman, Artis managing partner. “We’re turning a commodity into a lifestyle choice so it’s something we have to be really proactive with, yet adapt to. On Instagram everyday someone requests something different so we try to take everyone’s POV into strong consideration.”
Adelman added that Artis will be sold internationally in brick-and-mortar stores in September. With the help of Nicky Kinnaird, the brand will start its international expansion in the U.K.
Meanwhile, Adelman hinted that the company is considering broadening its portfolio beyond brushes. Right now its main focus is tools, but he added that facialists and consumers are currently using them to apply skin care.
“People are seeing that these brushes can put on more than just makeup,” said Adelman. “Brands are saying we can do facials with these; we can apply serums. It’s empowerment for either the makeup artist or skin-care professional or the user themselves.”
