NEW YORK — Bergdorf Goodman has beefed up its merchandising team with appointments in both its men’s and women’s areas.

William Cournoyer, a 17-year veteran of Barneys New York, has joined the store as vice president and divisional merchandise manager of men’s clothing and furnishings. Cournoyer, who had the same responsibilities at Barneys, will report to Ginny Hershey-Lambert, executive vice president of merchandising for Bergdorf Goodman.
In addition, Daphnie Au has joined the company as vice president and divisional merchandise manager, responsible for 5F, the women’s contemporary department. Au, who spent the past 12 years in various merchant positions at Saks Fifth Avenue, Prada and Barneys, will report to Aja Passero, senior vice president and general merchandise manager of women’s shoes, jewelry, cosmetics, 5F contemporary and sixth floor sportswear. Her most recent position was director of product development for women’s ready-to-wear at Saks.
