NEW YORK — CH Carolina Herrera is pushing forward with its growth in the U.S., with two stores expected to open over the next few months.

The retailer will open a boutique in NorthPark Center in Dallas at the end of August. Another store is planned for the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif., in early September. It currently has four stores in luxury malls in the U.S.: Americana Manhasset, on New York’s Long Island; The Forum Shops, in Las Vegas; The Galleria, in Houston, and Village of Merrick Park, in Coral Gables, Fla.

“We are definitely being much more aggressive in our expansion plans,” said Robert Cohen, executive vice president of Robert K. Futterman & Associates, which represents CH Carolina Herrera for its real estate. “It’s been a slow progression because we have been very disciplined about waiting for the right real estate in the best centers.”

The retailer, which is avoiding major luxury retail corridors such as Madison Avenue, Michigan Avenue or Rodeo Drive while it polishes the brand, anticipates opening four more stores in 2007. The firm is currently in negotiations for three new sites, said Cohen, who notes that CH Carolina Herrera is targeting the southern half of the U.S. Target cities include Austin and San Antonio in Texas; Orlando, Tampa and Palm Beach in Florida; San Diego; Phoenix, and eventually, Los Angeles.
