ComplexCon is set to take place in Chicago.
The two-day event, which merges shopping with celebrity appearances, musical performances and panel discussions, will be held on July 20 and 21 at McCormick Place, a convention center just outside of downtown Chicago.
This is the first time the event, which launched in 2016, will take place outside of Long Beach, Calif. The November edition of ComplexCon at the Long Beach Convention Center will still happen.
ComplexCon event director Neil Wright previously told WWD that attendance across the two-day event in November was 60,000, up from 50,000 a year ago and making it the most successful event in its three-year history. Attendees paid $300 for a VIP weekend pass or $100 for a two-day general admission wristband. In 2017, vendors closed in on sales of $20 million to $25 million.
According to a press release, the consumer-facing show will celebrate Chicago’s singular impact on pop culture.
