Credo is looking to make it easier for its customers to switch to a clean beauty routine.
The San Francisco-based natural beauty retailer is launching its Clean Beauty Discovery Kit, a cosmetics bag filled with seven travel-sized natural and non-toxic beauty products aimed to introduce the customer to a natural beauty regimen.
“It’s the best-in-class of everything, it’s small enough to travel with and it makes your swap into the clean beauty world pretty seamless,” said Shashi Batra, founder and chief executive officer of Credo. “[Our] mission is to change the way people think about what they put on their bodies, [and] not ask them to sacrifice style, luxury, design or any practicality.”
The Clean Beauty Discovery kit, which is priced at $59, is comprised of products across all categories — the De Mamiel cleansing balm, Pai day cream, Skin Owl Eye Plus, Evolvh shampoo and conditioner, Lovefresh deodorant and Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask.
The products were chosen for their ease of use and versatility with all skin and hair types, said Annie Jackson, Credo’s vice president of merchandising and planning. She also noted that the brands selected for the discovery kit are all strong naturals brands with compelling ingredient or founder stories.
Batra and Jackson conceived the idea for the discovery kit when they noticed some customers coming into their stores wanting to transition to a clean beauty regimen but not knowing where to start.
“We feel the need for more education in the beauty space, for people to understand what they are putting on their bodies,” Jackson said. “It’s about finding beauty within the parameters of what’s good for you.”
Credo is based in San Francisco and operates a store in New York’s NoLIta neighborhood, as well as an e-commerce web site. A second New York store is to open in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg in 2017.
