It’s exclusive to Macy’s and launches May 15 in 149 Macy’s locations and on macys.com, though products are already available online.
“CR by Cynthia Rowley is inspired by the ultimate summer getaway,” Rowley told WWD. She said the collection is “pretty, playful and sporty” and captures her brand’s signature style. “It’s brimming with energy and a sense of adventure with summer staples such as a sexy floral-print dress that you can wear from the beach to a party at sunset.”
The tops, skirts, pants, dresses and jackets are in “wispy fabrics and fanciful prints” and are priced from $79 to $179.
Stephanie Muehlhausen, Macy’s vice president and ready-to-wear fashion director, said customers are “definitely responding” to the retailer’s program of designer capsule collections, which in the past has included Karl Lagerfeld, Kinder Aggugini, Matthew Williamson, Giambattista Valli and others. “We are always looking for ways to inject newness into our assortment with new brands and designers at accessible price points,” Muehlhausen said.
She said CR by Cynthia Rowley offers bright embroidery, whimsical femininity and punchy floral prints. “The pieces are very versatile and can be dressed up or down, keeping up with any summer explorer’s many adventures. The collection’s lightweight tops in bold colors and prints will become wardrobe staples.”
Rowley, added Muehlhausen, is renowned for her whimsical and feminine approach to fashion. “She has created amazing collections that are at the same time joyful, stylish and trendy, while remaining versatile.”
