MILAN — Dolce & Gabbana launched a new boutique Feb. 12 here on the chic Via della Spiga. The two-level shop carries women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, lingerie, beachwear, knitwear and the bridal line.
The design team plans shops in New York and Paris, but the company noted it is having a hard time locating adequate store space in either city.
Interior designer Claudio Nardi decorated the 1,500-square-foot space with the Baroque feeling that characterizes the other six Dolce & Gabbana stores worldwide.
The designers also introduced a new apparel collection, called Dolce e Gabbana Basic, and a home collection, as reported.
With the opening of the new store, Dolce & Gabbana’s former men’s store, also on Via della Spiga, now carries only the home collection of patchwork rugs, cushions, sofas, Sicilian ceramics and tables. The rugs and cushions are manufactured by Domenico Dolce’s father’s apparel firm.
