Men’s wear veteran Doug Arvanites has joined the Doneger Group as men’s merchandise manager. He will oversee the company’s men’s division including sportswear, tailored clothing, collections, furnishings, contemporary sportswear and young men’s, and report to Patty Leto, senior vice president of merchandising for men’s wear, children’s wear, accessories and intimate apparel for the company.
“Doug has an extensive retail background in the men’s industry with an innate understanding of our clients’ needs and objectives,” said Abbey Doneger, president of the Doneger Group. “He adds of level of men’s wear experience to our team that will elevate our market coverage for our clients.”
Arvanites, 55, has more than 20 years of retail experience, including 15 years of senior men’s wear positions at May Department Stores Co. Most recently he was senior vice president and general merchandise manager of men’s apparel for Burlington Coat Factory. He has also worked at Neiman Marcus Group and Pacific Sunwear.
He succeeds Alison Levy who will remain with the company as a market analyst.
