Macy’s has made a change in its fashion office, elevating longtime merchant Durand Guion to head of fashion direction for the company.
Guion, a more than 20-year veteran of the department store, was most recently group vice president of fashion direction for men’s and kids. In this new role, he will now oversee both men’s and women’s wear for the company, and will report to Jeff Kantor, chief merchandising officer. Among the areas he will oversee are women’s ready-to-wear, center core and beauty in addition to men’s and children’s.
Cassandra Jones had previously held the role, but she is no longer with the company, a spokeswoman said.
“I am both proud and honored to be leading this exceptionally talented fashion office team,” Guion said. “Our ultimate goal continues to be identifying and curating the newest and most exciting product for the Macy’s consumer.”
Guion joined Macy’s in 1990, and worked closely with Jeff Gennette, Macy’s chief executive officer, when they were both headquartered in San Francisco.
