Launched in fall 2012, DesigNation collections take inspiration from an international locale. Past designers have included Narciso Rodriguez, Derek Lam and Catherine Malandrino. Peter Som will be launched April 10.
Tahari’s collection will draw inspiration from New York, a place the designer has called home for more than 40 years. The capsule collection, which will be exclusively at Kohl’s and kohls.com for fall, will reflect the sophisticated urban chic vibe of the city. It will feature dresses, sweaters, knit tops and bottoms in colors such as blue, black and ivory. Retail prices will range from $40 to $175.
Tahari, founder and chairman of Elie Tahari Ltd., said he’s pleased to partner with Kohl’s to “create an accessible collection that draws influence from the iconic architecture and vibrant energy of the streets of New York City, a place that has provide me with endless inspiration throughout my career.”
Known for using delicate, luxurious fabrics, subtle textures and intricate detailing in his clothing, Tahari will feature the same aesthetic in his DesigNation collection.
“2014 marks Elie Tahari’s 40th anniversary, and we are [pleased] to commemorate this celebratory year by partnering with him to offer women everywhere the signature Elie Tahari style and quality at an affordable price,” said Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief customer officer. She said that Tahari has excelled at dressing the “modern woman.”
