Frank Blake, former chairman and chief executive officer of The Home Depot, has been elected to the board of directors of Macy’s Inc. His election brings the size of the board to 14 members.
Blake, 66, served as chairman and ceo of Home Depot from 2007. He retired as ceo last November, and as chairman last February. Earlier he held various posts at Home Depot, including executive vice president for business development and corporate operations, with responsibility for such areas as real estate, store construction, credit services and strategic business development. Before joining Home Depot, Blake was deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy, and previously worked in a series of senior posts at General Electric. He also served as general counsel to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and deputy counsel to Vice President George H.W. Bush.
