PARIS — Jewelry robbers continue to strike in France.
A robbery took place on Saturday night at Galeries Lafayette in Thiais, near Paris, according to French police.
Media reports peg the value of the stolen jewels at 100,000 euros, or $109,861 at current exchange.
The store is located in the Belle-Epine shopping mall, also home to H&M, Sephora and Uniqlo stores.
The Thiais department store is one of the money-losing stores that Galeries Lafayette said recently it plans to shutter.
A spokesman for the French Interior Ministry said an investigation is under way.
