Nordstrom Inc. has named Gigi Ganatra Duff vice president of public relations and corporate affairs, responsible for the internal and external communications strategy for Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Hautelook and Trunk Club. She succeeds Brooke White, who retired last year.

Nordstrom said Ganatra Duff, a veteran of strategic marketing, public relations and special events, will work closely with the executive team and co-presidents to shape communications and oversee public relations activities, corporate social responsibilities and the Nordstrom Cares program. Ganatra Duff has also become part of the steering committee driving the Nordstrom flagship opening on 57th Street on the west side of Manhattan. The men’s store component of the flagship complex is slated to open in 2018 and the main women’s component is due to open in 2019. It will be Nordstrom’s first department store in New York City.

“She joins us at a really interesting and exciting time in our business with our Manhattan flagship opening soon, and we will benefit from her experience and fresh perspective,” said Pete Nordstrom, copresident.

Ganatra Duff comes to Nordstrom from Lionheart Capital, the real estate development and capital investment firm, where she was chief marketing officer overseeing sales and marketing, including brand development, strategy and creative for hospitality projects including The Ritz-Carlton Residences in Miami Beach. Earlier, she was vice president of communications for HSNi; senior director of global public relations for Starwood Hotels, and managing director of the Miami office of Harrison & Shriftman public relations. She also worked at Gen Art to launch the Miami branch, and was a vice president of public relations and marketing at the Terra Group.
