When Joseph Cicio joined I. Magnin about a year and a half ago, he noticed something missing. While the store offered lots of fashion to wear, it offered very little fashion for the home. Then came I. Magnin At Home, the new gallery-like eighth floor of the Union Square flagship. “We wanted to complement the fashion and have something for people to take home,” Cicio said.
The floor features everything from photo frames and Versace china to Hermes flatwear and Maine lemon fig honey. The area is also home to a new private label food area that has I. Magnin lemon cakes, popcorn and olive oil, among other delicacies. The idea is paying off. During the recent holiday shopping season, the floor was one of the most popular in the store, with shoppers grabbing up the gifts for others — as well as huge tins of I. Magnin popcorn for themselves.
