Janet Schalk has become chief information officer for Hudson’s Bay Co., succeeding Jon Nordeen who has become an IT adviser to the company.
Schalk will be responsible for leading the information technology strategy while continuing to drive the company’s road map of common systems, integrated support, business architecture and analytics.
“Her success in creating a strategic information technology function that drives customer engagement across all channels will be critical in advancing HBC’s IT systems and supporting the company’s growth,” said Jerry Storch, HBC’s chief executive officer. “We look forward to welcoming Janet to HBC and moving ahead with our plans for innovation and growth.” Schalk joins HBC’s executive leadership team and will report directly to the office of the chairman, comprising Richard Baker, chairman and governor, and Storch.
Schalk was executive vice president and chief information for Kohl’s Corp.. Earlier, she was executive vice president and head of global IT for Target Corp.
HBC operates Hudson’s Bay, Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th and Home Outfitters.
