PARIS — Hennes & Mauritz AB said on Wednesday it would open its first store in India in New Delhi this fall.

Spanning more than 25,000 square feet, the flagship will be located in the Indian capital’s upscale Select Citywalk shopping center, which also houses brands such as Zara, Mango and Gap.

The Swedish fast-fashion giant had announced its entry into the Indian market in February 2014, with an opening initially scheduled for later that year. The H&M Group is present in 58 markets worldwide with more than 3,600 stores, and sees the potential to open 50 stores in India over the next few years.
