For J. McLaughlin, there was good reason to celebrate.
The classic American clothing and accessories brand for women and men kicked off the fall season, launched its September style guide, and celebrated 40 years in business with a party at its flagship store at 1004 Lexington Avenue last Thursday.
“We think of September as the start of the year,” said chief executive officer Mary Ellen Coyne. “Kids are back in school, Fashion Week kicks off and the city is alive again.” The style guide is an homage to J. McLaughlin’s roots on the Upper East Side.
Among those at the party were Kevin McLaughlin and wife Barbara, chief executive officer Mary Ellen Coyne and husband Andrew; chief merchant Glynis Karp; Stacey Griffith from Soul Cycle; Louise Phillp Forbes; Claudia Lebenthal; model Anne Bannert; Jeremy Fielding; Amy Rosenblum; Mary Kate Boylan; Craig Montague; Sam Damegremond; Ashley Whittaker Spence; Karen Klopp, and Chris and Elizabeth Meigher.
