Los Angeles-based contemporary lifestyle brand Kut From the Kloth debuted its Premium Heritage Denim Collection, centered on “vintage throwbacks” designed with laser technology and “worn” looks via an eco-friendly process. The company described the collection as “ultra-comfortable cotton blends that grow more authentic with each wear.”

Its premium heritage line includes skinny, boyfriend, boot-cut and flared styles, beginning at $108. The brand manufactures in L.A. and embodies a playful California vibe, drawing much of its design inspiration from the west coast’s laid-back, casual lifestyle. Its sustainability ethos is rooted in “quality over quantity,” as its premium line offers shoppers “long-lasting” styles.

And the premium denim market is poised for more growth, as it’s already grown 11.7 percent so far this year across denim styles available in the U.S. premium market. Retail analysis and insights director at Edited, Katie Smith, told WWD, “This reflects a consumer divergence currently under way, with a group of consumers shifting away from throwaway fast fashion. Instead, this set of consumers is embracing longer-lasting, more-sustainably made apparel products that define the consumers’ unique styles and taste levels.”

Kut From the Kloth’s designer, Evelyn Ober, said, “In 2006, Kut From the Kloth was born. We discovered that women were looking for a clothing brand that was designed with their needs and lifestyle in mind, and for every stage of her life. They were looking for well-made, on-trend pieces designed with impeccable quality and a great fit.” Ober added that its premium heritage denim line “[keeps] Kut’s legacy and trends at the forefront of the denim industry.”
