NEW YORK — Lorna Nagler has been promoted to president of the Lane Bryant division of Charming Shoppes Inc., and Diane Paccione has joined the firm as president of its Catherine’s Plus Sizes unit.

Both executives will be responsible for merchandising, marketing, stores and operations of their respective brands and will report to Dorrit Bern, chairman, president and chief executive of CS. Bensalem, Pa.-based CS operates 2,260 stores, including 722 Lane Bryant units and 470 Catherine’s stores.

Nagler will be based at LB’s Columbus, Ohio, headquarters, and Paccione will be based at Catherine’s Memphis, Tenn., headquarters. Paccione succeeds Nagler, who in turn succeeds Diane Missel, who has left the company.

Paccione joins the firm from Sears, Roebuck & Co., where she most recently served as vice president and general merchandise manager of ready-to-wear and intimate apparel. She has also worked at May Department Stores, where she was divisional merchandise manager, and at Bloomingdale’s.

Nagler, who joined CS in 2002 as president of Catherine’s, served as general merchandise manager for the apparel division at Kmart Corp. She previously worked in merchandising positions at Montgomery Ward and Lane Bryant.

“Today’s executive appointments will strengthen our management team and help us to accelerate and maximize our growth strategy in women’s plus-size apparel,” Bern said in a statement.
