Liz Rodbell, the president of Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor, will tell students what it takes to make it in retailing, when she gives the keynote address at the 78th commencement exercises of LIM College, which focuses on the study of business and fashion.
“I am confident the words of wisdom she shares with our class of 2017 will motivate and inspire these young women and men as they set out in their own careers,” said LIM president Elizabeth S. Marcuse. “She is a true leader in business.”
The commencement will be held May 25 at 8 p.m. at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan.
Rodbell is among the few women to break retailing’s glass ceiling and has more than 30 years of experience. Prior to her current role, she was executive vice president and chief merchant for Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor, where she oversaw the merchant organization at both banners since 2012, and successfully integrated the senior leadership of the newly combined company. Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor comprise the department store group of Hudson’s Bay Co. Rodbell serves on the board of the Two Ten Footwear Foundation, the Parsons Board of Governors and the advisory board of Fashion Group International. Last year, she made the list of Crain’s 50 “most powerful women.”
