PARIS — L’Oréal said it intends to stop its mail-order activity, Beauté Créateurs, during the first half of next year.
The business “has encountered difficulties over the past several years linked to the structural weakening of the mail-order business model,” the French beauty giant said.
Beauté Créateurs’ sales over the last year were more than 87 million euros, or $116.9 million at average exchange, according to L’Oréal.
Beauté Créateurs’ employees — in France, Germany and Japan — will be offered other jobs within L’Oréal.
The mail-order activity was begun late in the Eighties and sells brands such as Agnès b., Cosmence and Professeur Christine Poelman.
