Lord & Taylor can be patriotic and promotional at the same time.

Since 1980, Lord & Taylor on Fifth Avenue has played the National Anthem every day when the store opens. But this Friday, instead of the usual recording, there will be a live performance of the National Anthem by the USO Show Troupe at 10 a.m. as the doors swing open.

From Friday to Memorial Day all 50 Lord & Taylor stores will raise funds for the USO, which supports America’s service members and their families. With the purchase of a $5 ticket, customers receive one 25 percent-off storewide savings pass (10 percent off of fragrances) for use May 27-30, with some exclusions. The full $5 will go to the USO. Customers with a valid military ID, service members and their families will be able to take advantage of the offer without purchasing a ticket.

“While we reflect on sacrifices of our nation’s military during Memorial Day weekend, we are glad Lord & Taylor customers will be able to show their support for our men and women in uniform,” said Michael Hoar, USO vice president of corporate alliance. Additionally, lordandtaylor.com shoppers who utilize the promo code “GIVE” will receive 25 percent off of purchases when they spend $200 or more, and 20 percent off when they spend up to $199.99. Also, 1 percent of lordandtaylor.com sales during the four-day promotion will be donated to the USO, up to a maximum of $10,000.
