DIGITAL TRUNK SHOW AT MACY’S: Macy’s Herald Square is hosting an interactive fashion event Friday and Saturday in partnership with online fashion marketplace Nineteenth Amendment. The two-day event will bring four independent designers to the flagship store for an on-demand, digital trunk show shopping experience.
The designers are Helen Castillo Design, a Jersey City, N.J.-based ready-to-wear designer (and “Project Runway” alum); Anje, a New York-based lifestyle fashion brand; Jovan, designed by Jovan O’Connor, a Philadelphia native and Macy’s Incubator designer, and Kreyol, a Boston-based brand designed by Joelle Jean-Fontaine, which features bohemian silhouettes inspired by traditional fabrics and prints from Afro-Caribbean culture.
The event will take place Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and all-day on Saturday in the Impulse department on the fourth floor of Macy’s Herald Square.
Customers can try on the collections onsite and pre-order the items online on dedicated devices. The designs, all of which are made on-demand in the U.S., will be shipped directly to the customer’s home in four weeks. These exclusive collections will only be available for 19 days at pre-sale prices following the event, and this is the only time customers can try before they buy.
