Suzanne K. Anderson has been appointed vice president, ready-to-wear fashion director at Macy’s, with responsibility for all areas of women’s apparel within the store’s fashion office.
Anderson has more than 20 years of fashion expertise in trend forecasting, marketing and product development. She was most recently vice president, creative director at Peerless Clothing, a large supplier of Canadian-made and imported men’s tailored clothing, selling to many major department and specialty stores. Earlier, Anderson served as vice president of design at Alexander Julian.
Anderson reports directly to Durand Guion, group vice president of the Macy’s fashion office. “Suzanne brings extensive and diverse experience to the role and her exceptional taste level will support our initiatives to deliver an exciting mix of trend-right product into our stores and macys.com,” said Guion.
The vice president, ready-to-wear fashion director position was previously held by Lauren Wilner, who was reassigned to vice president of business development, fashion.
Members of Macy’s fashion office travel the globe to discover trends in fashion, home and beauty. They work collaboratively across the Macy’s organization “to ensure that a timely and relevant fashion narrative resonates seasonally with the Macy’s consumer,” the company said.
