Guys can now ensure they find the best-fitting pair of jeans for their body.
Macy’s has teamed with True Fit, a fit personalization software program, to offer shoppers who create a free True Fit profile at Macy’s an entire catalogue of jeans personalized just for them. The retailer has offered the fit program for women since last fall.
Durand Guion, vice president and men’s fashion director of Macy’s, said: “True Fit is an exciting development for men’s denim. As men become more comfortable expressing their personal style — the ability to investigate and purchase denim geared specifically to individual fit allows him to explore more options and simplifies the shopping process.”
True Fit uses a variety of patented and proprietary algorithms to analyze data and calculate precise models for how each style is intended to fit each individual. This information allows the company to deliver personalized fit and size recommendations in real time.
True Fit works with top brands including Seven For All Mankind, Buffalo, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Guess, Hugo Boss, INC, Joe’s Jeans, Levi’s, Lucky Brand and others. Customers input body descriptions for key fit areas, selects best-fitting items from their closet and complete a profile with a few basics such as height. True Fit then allows them to virtually “try on” every item and makes recommendations for which will fit best.
According to True Fit, the software dramatically improves sales and cuts down on returns. It also allows retailers to increase their online sales by boosting the confidence of customers who might otherwise shy away from buying online.
