NEW YORK — Steve Madden has opened two stores in Connecticut — in Danbury and Westfarms — bringing the footwear and accessories company’s yearend store count to 73.

The 1,600-square-foot Danbury store, which opened Dec. 21, is located in the Danbury Fair Mall, which also houses Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, Abercrombie & Fitch, Express and Banana Republic units.

The retail location in Westfarms is just west of Hartford in the Westfarms Mall. The 1,400-square-foot space opened on Dec. 14 at the upscale shopping center, anchored by Nordstrom and Lord & Taylor.

Besides footwear and accessories, the company also has several licenses for the Steve Madden & Stevies brands, including outerwear, leather sportswear, eyewear, hosiery, watches, handbags and belts. In addition, the company owns and operates two retail locations under its David Aaron brand and is the licensee for LEI footwear.“122801”>“1201”>“VICKI>“2001”>“WOMENS>
