PARIS — Marionnaud gave a check for 100,000 euros, or $106,783 at current exchange, on Wednesday to Cosmetic Executive Women France’s centers, which grant free beauty treatments to hospitalized patients.
The gift was raised by the perfumery chain selling more than 29,000 teddy bears dressed by Chloé in an operation held at the end of last year.
The money raised pays for 2,500 aesthetic treatments for patients yearly.
Eileen Yeo, managing director of Marionnaud France, and Françoise Montenay, president of CEW France’s beauty centers, presented the results of the program called “Plus belle avec CEW” (or “More beautiful with CEW”), which this year comprised 34 volunteer beauty counselors being trained by CEW members and a psychologist to give advice in-store to people with cancer.
Marionnaud has held annual stuffed bear sales for CEW’s cause since 2002.
