Fashion industry veteran Mindy Grossman has joined the board of directors of Fanatics, the leading licensed sports retailer.
A self-professed sports fan, Grossman will join Weight Watchers International in July as president and chief executive officer. Most recently, she was ceo of HSN Inc., the $4 billion direct-to-consumer retailer. She has also worked for Nike, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Oxford Industries over the course of her career.
Grossman joins a board that is made up of members from some of the company’s investors (Silver Lake Partners, Insight Venture Partners, Temasek Holdings) as well as retail and e-commerce businesses including Hudson’s Bay Co.’s ceo Jerry Storch and Expedia president and ceo Dara Khosrowshahi.
Grossman is expected to help Fanatics grow its vertical merchandise model. She also sits on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Department’s Digital Economy Board of Advisors and is a member of the board of directors for Bloomin’ Brands Inc.
Fanatics sells licensed sports products on its Fanatics, FansEdge, Kitbag and Majestic Brands. It also operates more than 300 online and offline stores for major professional sports leagues, media brands and 200 collegiate and professional teams.
