LONDON — British online fashion retailer My-Wardrobe.com has appointed David Worby to the newly created role of global chief executive officer, effective as of July.
Worby, who is currently director of Harrods Direct, the online operation of the Knightsbridge department store, is charged with overseeing the “globalization of the brand,” My-Wardrobe.com said in a statement.
Sarah Curran, the retailer’s founder and formerly its ceo, will now take on the newly created position of chief creative officer of My-Wardrobe.com. The firm said Curran is to work alongside Worby to “oversee the creative consumer touch points of the brand.”
Curran stated, “We are all incredibly excited about David’s appointment. It is an exciting time for the business, and I look forward to working with him to build the brand … into a global leader in the luxury fashion area.” Prior to his role at Harrods, Worby had also served as head of direct for Debenhams, the U.K. department store chain.
My-Wardrobe.com positions itself as a destination for what it calls “everyday luxury” designer fashion, and the site attracts more than 1.4 million visitors each month. The retailer ships to 160 countries worldwide and last year said that Australia, the Middle East, the U.S., Germany and Scandinavia were among its fastest-growing international markets.
