The National Retail Federation is getting deeper into the research.
The Washington, D.C.-based trade organization said it has formed the Retail Research and Analysis Center, which will focus on the economy, legislative and regulatory policy, the retail industry and consumers. “By significantly investing in the future expansion and scope of NRF research, our members will have additional tools and insight as they operate in a very dynamic marketplace,” said NRF president and chief executive officer Matthew Shay. “And, our advocates will have the facts they need to advance retail’s policy agenda.” Shay said forming the center is a “multimillion-dollar” investment.
Ellen Davis has been named NRF’s senior vice president of research and strategic initiatives. She will also continue as executive director of the NRF Foundation.
A search is under way for a vice president of research development and industry analysis, who will report to Davis. The NRF also said current staff and consultant resources are being utilized and additional dedicated staffing is anticipated.
