The Neiman Marcus Group has named Donald T. Grimes executive vice president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer, effective June 15.

Grimes will succeed Jim Skinner, 61, who will continue on the management team in the newly created role of vice chairman of the Neiman Marcus Group. “Jim will focus on select strategic and business development areas and continue to report to Karen Katz,” NMG’s president and chief executive officer, a company spokeswoman said.

Grimes, 52, was senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer for Wolverine World Wide Inc., the footwear and apparel corporation. Prior to Wolverine, Grimes held executive positions at Keystone Automotive Operations and Brown-Forman Corp. He started his career with
Coopers & Lybrand.

Katz said Grimes brings “impressive and extensive leadership experience in operations, strategy and corporate finance, including M&A and international. Along with his vast experience, keen intelligence and ability to produce results, Don brings a balance of pragmatism and creativity — essential qualities for transforming our business and envisioning its future.”

Grimes will be responsible for finance, accounting, investor relations, tax, legal, distribution and fulfilment and properties.
